William Orange Realty has acquired the real estate business of the Frank Woodruff Rogers Agency located at 663 Orange Center Road in Orange. Frank Woodruff Rogers will continue working in the insurance industry in another location.
Frank D’Ostilio Jr., president and broker of William Orange Realty, and S. Aileen DeFeo, operations manager, made the announcement at this month’s meeting of the Orange Rotary Club held at the Racebrook Country Club.
According to D’Ostilio, the acquisition of the Frank Woodruff Rogers Agency, located in the heart of Orange’s historic district, was a natural progression for William Orange Realty. The location will serve as the Marketing Department’s new home, along with a state-of-the-art training center to accommodate the ever-growing agency and its 47 agents and staff. The deal makes it the first time a real estate office has ever operated two locations in the town.
Frank Woodruff Rogers Agency was founded in 1958. Company head Frank Woodruff Rogers, a past president of the New Haven Board of Realtors, is also a past chairman of the board of trustees at the Orange Congregational Church and a former member of the town’s Economic Development Commission. Currently, Rogers is treasurer for the Orange Chamber of Commerce, treasurer of the Orange Masonic Square Club, a member of the Devon Rotary Club and the Yale Golf Course.
“As the name William Orange Realty reflects the royal heritage of our area, named in honor of England’s Prince William of Orange in England, so does the history of the Woodruff name in Orange, which dates back to the 1700s,” said D’Ostilio.
Rogers was named after his grandfather, Frank Clark Woodruff, who was born in Orange in 1866. Stiles Woodruff, great-great-grandfather of Frank Rogers, founded S.D. Woodruff & Sons, which operated seed farms throughout Orange around the turn of the century. The company was sold in 1944, at which point Rogers’ father, Maurice, began a real estate career in developing lots. Frank Rogers and his father are responsible for the developments of local streets in the surrounding area such as Rogers Road, Robert Treat Drive, Cobblestone Drive, Hundred Acre Road and Arrow Head Drive.
William Orange Realty is a full-service residential real estate firm offering complete buying, selling, relocation and rental services. Along with the high visibility of the new location on Orange Center Road, its landmark and newly renovated office is located at 564 Racebrook Road in Orange, its Woodbridge/Westville office is located in the D’Andrea’s Plaza at 1654 Litchfield Turnpike in Woodbridge and its New Haven/East Rock office is located at 413 Temple St. in New Haven.
