Leanne Spletzer of New Canaan recently was installed as president of the Connecticut Association of Realtors. Spletzer, a broker with Coldwell Banker/Mabel C. Lamb Inc., has been a real estate broker for 25 years.
Since 1996, Spletzer has served on CAR’s board of directors and as a member of its Executive Committee for the last three years. In 2002, she began to work on national committees. She serves on the National Association of Realtors’ board of directors and is a member at large of the organization’s Risk Management Committee. She also represents CAR on the New England Realtors Committee.
Spletzer’s theme for the association in 2004 is “Build, Strengthen, Achieve” – core principles of CAR’s business plan. CAR will focus on building the base of volunteer leadership, strengthening the Realtor image and achieving success with legislative initiatives centered on the preservation of private property rights.
Robert Fiorito has been named CAR’s 2004 president-elect. Fiorito is currently manager of the Beazley Co. in West Hartford and has been in the real estate business for the past 11 years.
Fiorito serves on CAR’s board of directors and its Executive Committee. He is a member of the Finance and Issues Advocacy committees and division vice president of legal ethics. He also chaired the Political Fundraising Committee in both 2001 and 2003, and was vice chairman in 2000 and 2002.
Fiorito began his National Association of Realtors career by serving on the Professional Standards Committee in both 2002 and 2003 and will serve again in 2004. Additionally, he will sit on NAR’s board of directors in 2004. Fiorito joined the Mid-State Association of realtors as its treasurer in 1996 and continued in that seat through 1998 when he became president, serving a two-year term.
Denise Robillard of Jewett City, currently the president of the Connecticut Association of Realtors, will serve in 2004 as the immediate past president. She is a broker and president of Continental Realty Assoc. in Jewett City.
A Realtor for 26 years, Robillard has earned the CRS, GRI, ABR and E-Pro designations. She currently serves on CAR’s board of directors and is a member of the Finance and Business Plan committees. She formerly chaired the Risk Reduction Committee and participated on two presidential advisory groups for agency and statewide multiple listing services. She chaired the state MLS Committee in 1992.
Mark Foreman of Fairfield has been installed as CAR’s 2004 treasurer. He is a principal real estate broker and staff manager for Cornerstone Commercial Real Estate. On the state level, Foreman serves on the CAR board of directors, as well as the Executive and Finance committees.
