Prudential Connecticut Realty, Rocky Hill

Rocky Hill-based Prudential Connecticut Realty has been active throughout 2003, raising over $81,000 for the Sunshine Kids organization in hopes of improving the lives of cancer-stricken children. Prudential Connecticut Realty President and Chief Executive Officer Peter G. Helie presented the $81,046 check to National Sunshine “spokeskid” and childhood cancer survivor Shelby Robin.

“I am very proud of our entire firm, who worked very hard to raise these funds for the Sunshine Kids Organization,” said Helie, following the event. “Shelby’s moving account of her bout with bone cancer … made a lasting impression of just how these funds will truly benefit these children at a very difficult time in their lives.”

Robin spoke to the Prudential Connecticut Realty team during her trip to the Nutmeg State and said, “The trips and events that your funds will sponsor are so important. It is such a relief to be with other children who have been afflicted with cancer. To be out of the dreary hospital setting and around other kids who understand the emotions that you are experiencing while coping with this disease is so wonderful.”

This year, Prudential Connecticut Realty hosted several special sendoff parties for area children who went on a New York City adventure and a trip to New Orleans. On Feb. 9, office employees greeted the kids at Bradley International Airport with a special reception complete with balloons, sweatshirts, hats, goodie bags and other trip essentials.
