New Haven-based Beazley Co. has announced its Salespeople of the Year for 2003. The company also recently hired a new salesperson.

Mary Ann Parker of the Colchester office received the President’s Eagle Award for Residential Salesperson of the Year, Sal Nicotra of the Hamden office earned the Founder’s Crystal Award for highest closed dollars, Lou Buonfiglio of the Regional Center in Orange was named Outstanding Commercial Salesperson of the Year and Cheryl Szczarba of the New Haven office was named New Salesperson of the Year.

All of the agents also earned membership in Beazley’s President’s Club and Founder’s Club. Founder’s Club membership is awarded to the top 10 percent of Beazley agents, and is in memory of the company’s founder, William T. Beazley. All are also Beazley Customer Service Certified.

Nicotra joined Beazley in 1999. He resides in Wallingford and specializes in residential sales and new construction properties. Parker also specializes in residential sales and new construction properties. She joined Beazley in 1999 and resides in Colchester. Buonfiglio specializes in commercial sales and leasing and corporate-owned properties. He joined Beazley in 1983 and resides in West Haven. Szczarba came to Beazley in March 2002 when she joined her mother, Arlene Szczarba, in the real estate field after working for 18 years as an engineer and manager in the telecommunications industry. She resides in New Haven and specializes in residential sales.

The agents were honored at Beazley’s annual awards presentation, recently held at the Woodwinds in Branford. Company-wide, more than 250 agents received sales achievement awards based on their 2003 sales standings.

The company also recently hired a new salesperson.

Rhoda Winik has been a top sales producer on the Connecticut Shoreline for 12 years. She has been the recipient of numerous sales awards, including the Top Producer Award for the past seven years, and was named the 2003 Associate of the Year from the Home Builders Association of New Haven. Winik has earned the Accredited Buyer Representative and Seniors Real Estate Specialist designations. She also worked at the New Haven Register for 17 years in advertising and marketing.

Winik resides in Branford and specializes in residential sales, including waterfront homes and condominiums, and luxury and distinctive properties.
