Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the largest residential real estate brokerage firm in Connecticut, last week announced that it has acquired Bob Tendler Real Estate in Newtown.
Bob Tendler Real Estate is located at 17 Church Hill Road and has been ranked the No. 1 local residential real estate brokerage in Newtown since 1983, according to local multiple listing statistics. The company will now operate under the banner of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Connecticut/Westchester County, N.Y.
Bob Tendler, sole owner of his namesake company, will manage the Newtown office. A licensed real estate broker for 28 years, Tendler is a well-known figure in the Newtown community, where he served previously as president of the Greater Newtown Board of Realtors for two terms. Bob Tendler Real Estate’s 14 sales associates in the Newtown-based office accounted for nearly $100 million in closed sales volume during the last 12 months.
“We are very proud to welcome Bob Tendler Real Estate to our company,” said Peggy Doepper, president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker. “The company has always exceeded expectations when it comes to providing first-class service to their sales associates and clients alike. In pursuing a way into the Newtown market, we looked for a real estate firm that reflects our strong customer focus and found an excellent match with Bob Tendler Real Estate.”
With the Tendler announcement, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage now has 40 offices in Connecticut. The company was ranked No. 1 in closed sales volume during 2003 in the state of Connecticut, according to the 2004 REAL Trends 500 study.
