8 Inspiration Lane, Chester
Kristin T. Geenty, president, and Kevin C. Geenty, vice president, of Branford-based The Geenty Group, Realtors, recently served as the listing and leasing agents for 8 Inspiration Lane in Chester, a 38,600-square-foot distribution building.
The modern, high-ceilinged facility is the former home of Chester Machine Products, which was sold to a German manufacturer several years ago. The property is owned by Ohaus Management Group. The landlord’s primary negotiator in the long-term lease was Karl Ohaus. Bill Stauffer, president of Insula-Dome Skylights, the tenant company, reports that his firm has already taken occupancy of the facility.
The lease has a value in excess of $750,000 and the tenant company has been granted an option to purchase the building and land.
The Geenty Group also worked with Lyman Real Estate to complete the sale of 3 Hilltop Road, which is located in the Norwich Business Park in Norwich, to Donovan Marine Inc., a leading marine accessory distribution company. The seller began leasing the 44,820-square-foot building to Donovan Marine in August 2004 with the intent of completing the purchase after due diligence was finished. The sale was closed on March 31 of this year.
Ron Lyman and Karen Simkowski of Lyman Real Estate represented the sellers. Kevin Geenty of The Geenty Group, along with Matt O’Hare of CB Richard Ellis, represented the buyers. Donovan Marine, a New Orleans-based national distributor of everything for the boating enthusiast, was referred to The Geenty Group by Randall L. Walker of the Industrial Group in New Orleans. Walker is the 2006 president-elect of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.
