Dana F. Boardman

The board of directors of Simsbury-based Simsbury Bank & Trust Co., a subsidiary of SBT Bancorp Inc., recently elected five employees to officer positions. Many of those recognized have been longtime contributors to the bank’s success. The promotions, according to officials, reflect the employees’ strong performance and commitment to excellence as well as the bank’s expectations for their continuing importance to the institution in the future.

Dana F. Boardman, e-commerce operations manager, was elected assistant treasurer. Boardman joined the bank as a teller when it first opened in 1995 and moved to the Finance Department in 2001. Boardman’s duties have grown to include managing all aspects of SBT Online, as well as managing internal branch teller operations and assisting the operations officer in managing many bank-wide operational activities.

Margot M. Byrne, senior staff accountant, was elected assistant treasurer. Byrne joined Simsbury Bank & Trust in 2000 after having spent a number of years in the insurance industry as a financial manager. Her current responsibilities include managing the general ledger reconciliation process, coordinating quarterly financial forecasting and interest-rate risk analyses, and managing the bank’s financial modeling and budgeting software.

Gladden (Denny) R. Keyes, compliance and security officer, was elected vice president. Keyes joined the bank in 2003 with more than 20 years of banking experience, including serving as vice president at both Legacy Bank and Vermont National Bank. He also serves as the institution’s Bank Secrecy Act officer.

Lauren S. McCoy, credit manager, was elected vice president. McCoy joined Simsbury Bank & Trust in 2002. She works closely with the commercial lenders analyzing loan requests and making recommendations in accordance with the bank’s loan policy, as well as working on special projects for senior management. Prior to joining the bank, McCoy was a senior vice president of credit risk management for North America with Lehman Bros.

Lisa A. Morgan, deposit operations manager, was elected to assistant treasurer. Morgan has day-to-day responsibility for Simsbury Bank & Trust’s deposit operations and manages a staff of four. She was one of the bank’s original employees in 1995, joining as the operations manager. The Operations Department has significantly increased in complexity over the years as the bank has implemented many technological innovations.

The Simsbury Bank & Trust Co. is a locally controlled, customer-friendly commercial bank, for businesses and consumers, with approximately $210 million in assets.

Bank Honors Sperry

Thomaston-based Thomaston Savings Bank recently named Nancy Sperry as its Employee of the Quarter. She has been employed by the bank since February 1999.

Sperry’s current position at the bank is that of head teller at the Bethlehem branch. Officials said she was chosen for the honor by her peers because of her knowledge and dedication to her position at the bank and that she makes frequent suggestions to try to improve efficiencies at the bank.

Her interests include her children and grandchildren. She is also an avid reader.

In honor of her achievements, David J. Carlson, president and chief executive officer of Thomaston Savings, presented Sperry with an Employee of the Quarter award and a gift certificate to an area business.
