Harold Kurfehs

Harold “Hal” Kurfehs of Coldwell Banker Commercial-Scalzo Group has been listed in the newly published “Who’s Who in America” for 2007.

The Marquis “Who’s Who” publication, which first appeared in 1899, is recognized globally as the premier reference pertaining to notable living Americans. As a measure of exclusivity, Kurfehs is one of only a dozen biographies so honored in the state of Connecticut under real estate, distinguishing him as one of the leading industry achievers from around the country.

Kurfehs, a vice president with Coldwell Banker Commercial-Scalzo Group, is a 20-year commercial real estate veteran and handles commercial, investment and industrial sales and leasing, as well as development projects, for the organization. He is a past president of the statewide Commercial Investment Division and the Connecticut Association of Realtors, a state director of CID and past president of the Greater Danbury CID.

Locally, he is vice chairman of the Brookfield Planning Commission, a member of the Brookfield Economic Development Commission and an advisory board member for NewMil Bank. Kurfehs received a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Peter’s College his Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

H. Pearce Brokers Leases

H. Pearce Commercial Real Estate recently brokered leases totaling 3,700 square feet of office and retail space at 140 Washington Ave. in North Haven.

Vin Scarpitti of H. Pearce Commercial Real Estate represented the owner, EJC Enterprises, in completing four leases to bring the building’s occupancy to 100 percent. He also represented tenant A&S Insurance in the transaction. Ron DeGennaro of DePodesta Real Estate Co. represented two of the new tenants, 1st Affordable Mortgage and General Drafting and Design. Rob Ennis of Ennis Realty represented the fourth, All Nation Satellite.

H. Pearce Commercial Real Estate, which specializes in Connecticut’s central, south-central and Shoreline markets, has offices in North Haven and Rocky Hill.

Associates Join CBA

Stamford-based CBA Commercial has hired three new sales associates.

Gary L. Hicks has been appointed sales associate for Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. He will be based in Waynesville, Ohio. Hicks, 54, has broad experience in all areas of commercial real estate lending, including origination, underwriting, closing and servicing. Before joining CBA, Hicks was an instructor for commercial real estate programs at Westbrook College in Centerville, Ohio, and a consultant to several community banks and mortgage brokers.

Andrew J. Meyer has been named sales associate for Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. He will be based in Milford, Mass. Meyer, 54, has extensive experience in the mortgage lending business. Prior to joining CBA, he was senior vice president for Cambridge Savings Bank in Cambridge, Mass., where he originated $500 million in mortgage loans and $60 million in home equity lending.

Kevin J. Tucker has been appointed sales associate for Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. He will be based in Westminster, Colo. Tucker, 44, has more than 15 years of experience in the title insurance and mortgage industries. Before was be hired by CBA, Tucker was Denver-based regional account manager for InterBay Funding.
