William Raveis Real Estate & Home Services recently updated its Web site to include podcasts and mobile technology. The site, www.raveis.com, gets more than 3.5 million visits a year.

“When a seller lists their home with William Raveis, they immediately receive vast online benefits,” said Chief Executive Officer William Raveis. “Their home becomes an ‘enhanced listing,’ larger than all other [multiple listing service] listings on the site; is surrounded by an eye-catching blue frame; and can include over 20 photos with descriptions on each, and more. These features are not offered at any other real estate Web site.”

He added, “Being an independent real estate company with a strong focus on entrepreneurial past, present and future, we’re always looking to take our company to the next level. Soon we will begin providing access to all properties on the MLS to mobile phones with Internet access, and raveis.com will feature various podcasts available for download to MP3 players and computers.”

Podcasting is a method of publishing files to the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed and receive new files automatically on their MP3 player or computer.

The enhanced listing capabilities also include interactive contact information, neighborhood mapping of nearby amenities and a slide show of property photos. Once a consumer clicks on a William Raveis enhanced listing, they are treated to an abundance of information on the property, including a printable brochure with descriptive thumbnail picture tags and an “online business card” complete with the listing agent’s photo and contact information.

The Web site also has been upgraded to allow the company’s 1,700 sales associates to better service their clients with a variety of new options, allowing more access for consumers to directly connect to their personal William Raveis Web site, including several interactive options. Raveis.com is just one example of the revolutionary technology tools that allow them to market their homes at the highest level, according to the CEO.

Coat Drive to Be Held

North Haven-based H. Pearce Real Estate Co.’s Madison office will sponsor its 17th Annual Coat Drive on Friday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 4.

The company is requesting that those interested help in assisting its needy neighbors by donating clean coats and jackets in good condition. According to company officials, the coat drive has proven to be an extremely successful event in past years.
