TD Banknorth Awards Grants

Portland, Maine-based TD Banknorth Connecticut, on behalf of the TD Banknorth Charitable Foundation, recently awarded grants to three community-based organizations for their proposals that addressed the need for affordable housing in Fairfield County. The grants, totaling $50,000, were awarded as part of TD Banknorth’s “Housing for Everyone” grant competition.

A $20,000 grant was awarded to the Women’s Institute for Housing and Economic Development, and two $15,000 grants were awarded to New Neighborhoods Inc. and the Mutual Housing Association of Southwestern Connecticut. The awards were announced by TD Banknorth Connecticut President and Chief Executive Officer John J. Patrick Jr.

“We believe the ‘Housing for Everyone’ proposals submitted by these organizations best exemplifies the community development philosophy that inspires TD Banknorth,” said Patrick. “We can all play a role in helping to solve the affordable housing crisis in Connecticut.”
