The employees of The Simsbury Bank & Trust Co.’s Bloomfield branch, in conjunction with the staff of its neighbor, Starbucks Coffee, recently “adopted” a Bloomfield family for which they provided an assortment of Christmas gifts.

The single father raising four children had signed up with Bloomfield’s Department of Social and Youth Services holiday gift program. Bank employees donated an assortment of gifts, plus two new bikes from one employee’s parents. Starbucks staff donated two weeks’ worth of tips with which they purchased presents, and the parents of two employees provided additional funds for gifts. Camilla Jones, director of the Department of Social and Youth Services, picked up the items and thanked all of the employees for their wonderful generosity to the family.
