Habitat Receives $20,000

The Savings Institute Foundation has awarded Windham Area Habitat for Humanity $20,000 toward the sponsorship of three Willimantic homes. The three-home parcel will represent the eighth, ninth and 10th homes the affiliate has built.

“The Savings Institute has been very supportive of our efforts, with an ambitious show of volunteers and a strong willingness to partner,” said Brian Whalen, board president of the local Habitat affiliate. “Because our affiliate is comprised entirely of volunteers, 100 percent of all donations go toward the construction of homes.”
