A commercial building in New Haven has been sold and will be converted into apartments by the new owner.

The 3,678-square-foot building at 27 High St. was acquired by Pike International of New Haven for $900,000.

The property includes .09 acres.

Orange-based Colonial Properties Inc. represented the buyer, while the seller, University Lutheran Ministry of New Haven, was represented by Jack Hill of Seabury Hill Realtors.

“This sale, along with several others that we have completed in the New Haven central business district, is indicative of the high demand for downtown real estate right now and the trend of redeveloping and repurposing underutilized properties for residential use,” Michael Richetelli, president and designated broker of Colonial Properties, said in a statement.
