A Wallingford man has pleaded guilty to fraud and money laundering offenses stemming from an investment scheme that defrauded individuals of nearly $1.5 million.
The charges were brought against Joseph A. Castellano in April, alleging that he had used investor funds, brought in through at least four different businesses, for his own personal benefit.
Castellano pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and one count of money laundering. He is scheduled for sentencing on Dec. 22, 2016, at which time he faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 30 years.
He is released on a $250,000 bond pending sentencing.
