Connecticut Department of Banking Commissioner Jorge L. Pérez has asked for residents who have used the money transmitter Century Union Services LLC and did not receive the services they paid for to come forward.

The department says it has reason to believe that many more people may have been affected since it issued a cease and desist order to the company in October of this year.

The commissioner alleged in the order that Century Union failed to transmit money or monetary value received from Connecticut consumers and engaged in fraud, intentional misrepresentations or negligence.

Century Union is headquartered at 493 Broadway in Everett and operates out of three other locations:

• Bull Boi Meat Supermarket, 827 North Ave., Bridgeport
• Bem Brasil Market, 213 White St. #1, Danbury
• Link Travel & Services, 1839 Park St., Hartford

Prior to the suspension of its license, Century Union held offices in Newark, New Jersey and Pompano Beach, Florida. Robes Barboza is the sole member of the LLC.

A hearing took place this morning in Hartford.
