The New Haven Middlesex Association of Realtors Commercial Investment Division (CID) recognized more than $125 million in top deals brokered during 2017 and welcomed Toby Brimberg as its incoming chairman.

During the group’s annual awards ceremony, Bill Clark of Branford-based Geenty Group led all members with 78 transactions completed during the year. Stephen Press and Ted Schaffer of Press/Cuozzo Realtors were awarded top office sale for the $10 million acquisition of Hamden Center II, a 100,000-square-foot office and retail building. Press also took top honors in the apartment sale category, for the $4.15 million acquisition of a 52-unit complex at 655 Fitch St. and 42-52 Warner St. in Hamden.

Other award winners included Vance Taylor of Commercial Real Estate Group for the sale of Torrington-based Rescuelink of Connecticut, Mike Richetelli and Fred Messore of Colonial Properties for the sale of Brothers Four Car Wash in West Haven, Frank Hird of O, R & L Commercial for a 300,000-square-foot industrial lease at 75 Aircraft Road in Southington, Steve Inglese of New Haven Group for the $7.75 million sale of 141 South St. in New Haven and Bill Weirsman of Colonial Properties for the lease of 1.7 acres at 670 Ella Grasso Boulevard in New Haven.

Also receiving recognition were Fred Messore of Colonial Properties for the $8 million sale of 120 acres at 600 Derby Ave. in West Haven, Jay Hruska and Sean Duffy from Cushman and Wakefield for the acquisition of Acorn Technology Campus by Yale-New Haven Health Services Corp., John Bergin and Dave Melillo of H. Pearce Real Estate for the $1.5 million sale of 435 Whalley Ave. in New Haven, Bob Motley and Evan O’Brien of Cushman and Wakefield for a $7 million lease at 800 Boston Post Road in Guilford, Chris Nicotra of Olympia Properties and Michael Ferraro of Buy Executive Real Estate for a 15,000-square-foot restaurant lease at 142 Temple St. in New Haven, Steve Inglese of New Haven Group for the $18 million sale of 180 Post Road East in Westport and Lou Proto of The Proto Group for a $5.8 million retail lease at 510 Frontage Road in New Haven.

Steve Patten of The Proto Group won the community service award and Michael Barbaro of Huntsman-Meade and Partners Compass Realty received the CID chairman’s appreciation award from outgoing chairman Ken Ginsberg.
