Wrestling entertainment company WWE announced Wednesday it is moving on from its well-known East Stamford office building along Interstate 95.
The company has signed a lease for space at 677 Washington Blvd. in downtown Stamford. The company said the move will allow it to bring together its operations, including production studios and corporate offices, in one site. WWE will take up 415,000 square feet in the three-building complex, the Stamford Advocate reports.
“One of the most important elements necessary to execute WWE’s long-term growth strategy is world-class talent collaborating seamlessly to create compelling content. Our workplace initiative will be the foundation to meet these objectives and underpins our ability to deliver long-term value,” WWE Co-President George Barrios said in a statement.
WWE expects to complete the move in 2021.
The firm signed a 16.5-year lease on the new home and expects to sell its distinctive home at 1241 East Main St. and exit its leased spaces at 1266 East Main St. It may also leave its production studio facilities at 88 and 120 Hamilton Ave.
