A vacant lot on East Hartford’s Main Street, plus several houses on a side road, are in line to become a new commercial development by East Hartford’s Goodwin College.

The college won approval from the local planning and zoning commission last week to consolidate the seven lots on the south side of Ensign Street, which the college already owns, into a 3.15-acre property across the street from the Pratt & Whitney factory, the Hartford Business Journal reports.

The commission’s agenda describes the Goodwin project as a “23,000-square-foot, mixed use building with 123 parking spaces containing a financial institution, restaurant, office and retail uses.”
