A new permit will give Connecticut’s craft distillers the ability to open taprooms and compete with craft brewers for visits from fermentation fans.

Connecticut’s booming craft beer industry has long enjoyed the ability to operate taprooms at breweries, a feature key to generating the kind of  customer connection and enthusiasm necessary for individual brewers to build their fan bases. Now, according to The Connecticut Post, a bill making its way through the general assembly will allow craft distilleries to do the same.

If signed by Gov. Ned Lamont, the new permits would become available in July 2020.
