Amazon will fill a speculative 403,000-square-foot distribution center built by Indiana developer Scannell Properties at 120 County Line Drive in Cromwell last year, company and city officials said Wednesday.

“I’m very pleased to welcome Amazon,” Mayor Enzo Faienza said in a statement.

The city announcement touted the distribution center as “great jobs with great benefits,” including a $15 minimum hourly wage, flexible parental leave and health, vision and dental insurance for full-time workers.

Amazon said the company has invested more than $1 billion building distribution infrastructure in Connecticut since 2010. Amazon currently operates two local fulfillment centers, in Windsor and North Haven, plus a sortation center in Wallingford and a delivery station in Bristol.

Scannell received approval for another 182,000-square-foot distribution center in South Windsor late last year and is building a warehouse for Amazon there, as well.
