A New Britain development and construction firm is being honored by the local chamber of commerce for its community service.

The Tomasso Group is in line to receive the Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce’s distinguished community service award. The award and other yearly chamber awards will be given out Nov. 19 at a virtual event held via Zoom.

“We are delighted to recognize several of Greater New Britain’s leading businesses and individuals,” Greater New Britain Chamber President William D. Moore said in a statement. “These businesses and individuals have made, and continue to make, significant impacts in our community.  Their leadership affects our area in so many ways.  We are fortunate to have so many dedicated individuals and businesses leading the way for Greater New Britain.”

The Tomasso Group has developed several notable buildings in the area, including a medical building in Plainville, large office buildings in Farmington and downtown New Britain. It has also managed the historic renovations of New Britain City Hall and Waterbury’s Palace Theater, an important component of efforts to revitalize the city’s downtown.
