Local developers The Belfonti Cos. and A Secondino & Son have inked an agreement with Cushman & Wakefield to market a 120 acres of former farmland in Branford for development.
The duo have assembled the large parcel over the last 15 years, the New Haven Register reports.
The paper reports the site could make an excellent location for a warehouse or distribution facility or biotech offices, labs or manufacturing space. The property is zoned for industrial uses and has direct I-95 access.
Branford’s existing industrial real estate along Interstate 95 has created opportunities for some biotechs to grow as they spin off of Yale University, but the area lacks significant capacity to manufacture the drugs these firms create and next to no space remains. Industrial real estate is poised to emerge from the pandemic in a strong position across the state.
