A local manufacturing firm has bought just over 8 acres of land in Milford for $1.32 million to build itself a brand-new, consolidated facility.

Valley Tool and Manufacturing bought the multi-parcel assemblage earlier this year, according to public records, with help in part from a mortgage via People’s United Bank.

The company plans to build a 100,000-square-foot facility on the site near the intersection of Plains Road and Shetland Street, said Angel Commercial President John Angel. Angel was the sole broker the off-market transaction, he said. The facility is under construction and is expected to be completed later this year.

“Valley Tool will be consolidating their operations,” Angel said in a statement. “They currently have two locations over 7 miles apart from one another, a 37,000-square-foot facility in Orange and a 63,000-square-foot facility in Milford.”  The new facility will allow them to bring all their manufacturing to one location.”

Angel’s Southport-based firm said it has been retained to sell the Orange facility.
