A small apartment complex in Manchester has sold for $1.85 million.
The Mansion Apartments, at 20 Otis St., last changed hands in 2008 for $1.26 million, according to public records.
The 15-unit complex has two buildings. The first was converted from an 1880s Victorian mansion owned by a family of local industrialists, the Cheneys, whose fabric mills employed one-fifth of the town in the mid-1900s according to Chozick Realty.
Rick Chozick and Steve Pappas of the company’s Hartford offices represented the seller and procured the buyer.
The former mansion building has eight units and retain many original carved wood panels and moldings, plus original fireplaces, Chozick said.
The second building was built in 1900 and contains seven units, according to public records.
Most units in the complex are two-bedrooms and are consistently occupied at or near 100 percent of the time, Chozick said. Both buildings are within walking distance of downtown Manchester.
