A downtown Stamford office complex has a new tenant following the signing of a full-floor lease.
United Rentals Inc., a large equipment rental company, will take 51,194 square feet at 100 First Stamford Place. The 776,397-square-foot glass-walled office complex sits next to the Stamford Transportation Center.
In a statement announcing the transaction, building owner Empire State Realty Trust noted the building was recently upgraded with fitness and conference centers, new dining and a new coffee lounge, renovated lobbies, on-site daycare, beautifully landscaped grounds, covered parking, a shuttle to the Stamford Transportation Center and an on-site car wash.
The building’s HVAC systems have also been recently upgraded to enhance indoor air quality and defend against the spread of the coronavirus with MERV 13 filters, active bi-polar ionization, and increased air filtration.
“Food, fitness, day care, and spaces for social connection are all right here at First Stamford Place,” Jeff Newman, senior vice president at Empire State Realty Trust, said in a statement. “The property serves as the ideal location for companies to recruit and retain employees from across the tri-state area.”
Ted Uzelac and Chris Armstrong of Fischer Co. represented United Rentals in the lease negotiations. Jeffrey H. Newman and Kimberly A. Zaccagnino of Empire State Realty Trust led negotiations for ownership, along with James Ritman, Torey Walsh, Greg Frisoli and Janey Steinmetz of Newmark. Legal representation for ESRT was provided by David Bleckner of Lester, Bleckner, & Shaw LLP.
