The trade group for Connecticut life science companies is moving into the state’s newest biotech building.

BioCT announced last week it would be relocating its offices to a space of unspecified size in Winstanley Enterprises’ 101 College St. tower in New Haven.

The 500,000-square-foot tower is nearing completion and is anchored by Yale School of Medicine, Alexion Pharmaceuticals and Arvinis Inc. In addition BioLabs, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based incubator, will be a major tenant.

In addition, BioCT announced that it was adding Winstanley Enterprises principal Carter Winstanley to its board of directors.

“I am honored Carter has agreed to join our prestigious Board of Directors. His passion and experience in both building state-of-the-art spaces in New Haven and mentoring our next generation of talent are completely aligned with BioCT’s commitment and priorities,” BioCT CEO Jodie Gillon said in a statement. “Carter has personally been a trusted mentor and advisor to me since the day I took over as CEO, and I feel incredibly fortunate he has chosen to dedicate even more of his time to help us grow and evolve.”

BioCT credited Winstanley with being the major motive force behind New Haven’s growth as the state’s leading life sciences hub thanks to Winstanley Enterprises’ 100 and 101 College St. towers and the development of 2.5 million more square feet of commercial real estate in the city alone.
