The student loan problem is enormous: $1.7 trillion in debt, almost 45 million borrowers with loans to repay, about 10 percent of borrowers delinquent or in default even before the pandemic started. As president and CEO of The Milford Bank, Susan Shields saw an opportunity to help.
The Milford Bank has partnered with financial technology firm FutureFuel.io to offer a platform that helps customers manage student debt.
Jorge Santiago has been promoted at The Milford Bank to executive vice president. Santiago previously was vice president and branch administrator, starting his career at the bank in 2005.
Infinex Financial Group located at The Milford Bank announced its plans to open a financial services office at 96B Broad St. in Guilford, according to a statement from the bank.
