The Hartford Stadium Authority is terminating its contract with the developers of a $63 million minor league baseball stadium under construction near downtown.
The Hartford Courant reports Mayor Luke Bronin announced Monday that city officials received emails from Centerplan Cos. and DoNo Hartford LLC last week saying they estimated it would take 60 days or more until the ballpark is building-code compliant.
The developers have already missed two deadlines for “substantial completion” of the 6,000-seat stadium. The most recent deadline was May 17. The delays have kept the Hartford Yard Goats from playing in the city.
Jason Rudnick, president with Centerplan and a principal in Do No Hartford, has said work could be halted for six months or more if the city terminates them from the project.
