Board Installs Officers

The Stamford Board of Realtors, a service organization of 945 members committed to elevating the business of real estate through education and enforcing ethical standards of practice, installed its new officers and directors during its annual meeting on Nov. 10 at the Woodway Country Club. With 175 in attendance, the meeting updated membership on key issues and events.

The meeting began with a contest to raise funds for the Realtors Political Action Committee, which protects and promotes the tradition of real estate ownership in America, today. Board members were urged to support the organization, which continues to lobby state legislators not to eliminate the mortgage interest deduction. Meeting attendees were treated to a “hot legs” contest by five male Realtors: Garth Schwamm, Todd Auslander, Dave Wittenberg, Bill Olsen and Greg Crawford. Anyone who wished to cast their vote for their favorite gams had to include a contribution with their ballot.

President Geri Guzinski delivered her overview of 2005, which highlighted the organization’s continued commitment to community service.

“Volunteering for community service is an important responsibility we all have Â…moreover, being involved is energizing and informative,” said Guzinski, pledging a continued commitment on the part of the Stamford board to assist the needs of the community.

The new slate of officers for 2006 consists of Guzinski, president; Phil Caruso, president-elect; Diane Eliades, vice president; Bud Farris, treasurer; and Iris Bell, secretary. Directors, existing and new, are Marie Barker, Merrily Eisnitz, Gloria Kowalczyk, Paula Kroll, Ruth Miner, Maddy Shapiro, Binnie Ditesheim, Peggy Meehan, Sven Olson, Sallie Rosi Craig, Catherine Richardson and Millie Lewis Sanislo.
