Lantern Hill Road, Westport

Agents at Prudential Connecticut Realty recently listed and sold the house that was designated Best Spec Home of 2005 by the Home Builders Association of Connecticut.

Meg Freeman of Prudential Connecticut Realty in Westport listed the Georgian Colonial on Lantern Hill Road in Westport, while Dee Cohen and Miriam Luck of the M&D Properties team – also out of Prudential’s Westport office – sold the home.

Mike Cerreta built the house, which took top honors for its blend of classic old-world charm and modern amenities, attention to detail and expert craftsmanship. The home won the top award in the subcategory of $4 to $5 million priced homes, capturing the 2005 Best Spec Home honor as well.

“It is an absolute pleasure selling Cerreta-built homes,” said Chris Simmer, office leader of Prudential Connecticut Realty in Westport. “Mike Cerreta is a master tradesman and craftsman and this is evident in every detail of his homes.”

The award was presented at the Home Builders Association of Connecticut’s annual HOBI Awards Dinner at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington. The HOBI Awards are the most noteworthy awards presented in Connecticut by members of that organization for excellence in design, construction, land development, sales and marketing, and financing.

The 7,000-square-foot Westport home includes a 2-story entry with limestone flooring, curved staircase and recessed paneling. Officials said its professional culinary-grade gourmet kitchen, living room with coffered ceiling, and cherry wood library are some of the features that made the home the Home Builders Association of Connecticut’s choice for the award.

Prudential Connecticut Realty is an independently owned and operated member of the Prudential Real Estate Affiliates with 64 offices and more than 1,900 sales executives servicing Connecticut and Western Rhode Island.
