East Lyme First Selectman Beth Hogan and Prudential Connecticut Realty welcomed the first residents, Brian and Amy Manning, to The Orchards, a 160-lot community, on June 8. The celebration took place at the site of the development, once a working apple orchard, which is located just beyond Main Street in East Lyme.

Many longtime residents of East Lyme have said they are impressed by the significant improvement that The Orchards subdivision has made to their neighborhood with the addition of public water and sewers that were fully paid for by the developer and noted builder, Jeffrey S. Doynow of Prestige East Lyme Development.

“Our reputation is based on quality, honesty and integrity,” Doynow said. “We are proud that our best referrals for new homes are those from our own customers and homeowners in the communities we have built.”

The Orchards is being architecturally designed by the Office of Carol JW Kurth. The Orchards offers five models and numerous customization choices with flexible floor plans, old-world interior workmanship, high ceilings, wood floors and custom tile.

“The design of the community was created as a cohesive design theme,” Kurth said. “From the entry approach, to the architecture of the clubhouse and the individual homes, a commonality of design elements, a thread of details and a cohesive color scheme are hallmarks of The Orchards,” she added.

The Orchards is comprised of mews scattered among the East Lyme hills. The clubhouse, located at the top of the main drive, is complete with an exercise facility, large gathering room and private conference area with full kitchen. A tennis court enhances the recreation and social atmosphere. Fully furnished models are open to preview with five homes ready for occupancy and four more homes under construction. Base prices range from $624,900 to $727,900.

Prudential Connecticut Realty is the exclusive real estate brokerage firm managing the sales and marketing process of the community.
