Realtors Rosemary Sowitcky (left) and Mary Radziszewski sort through items recently collected for Boys & Girls Village in Milford.

Mary Radzsizewski says that when she heard about the children who go to Boys & Girls Village in Milford for temporary housing carrying their belongings in plastic shopping bags, she knew she had to do something to help.

Radzsizewski, a Realtor with Weichert Realtor Regional Properties in Orange, rallied her fellow Realtors at the company, along with some clients, to collect donations of small suitcases, travel, tote and duffle bags. The items could be any size and any style, as long as they were in good condition.

“Our goal is to give these children back some self-respect. Hopefully this will begin a path of healing the wounds they have encountered,” said Radzsizewski.

Close to 100 bags were collected and distributed to children in need.
