Tom Barone has been promoted to senior vice president of Shelton-based William Raveis Affiliates. William Raveis Affiliates is a branch of the William Raveis Cos. that offers franchise opportunities to existing and start-up real estate organizations in select markets.
“Tom was a natural choice for this role,” said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer William Raveis. “He is a longtime employee of our company and he has consistently proven himself as a successful leader in every role he has held.”
A longtime resident of Trumbull and a graduate of the University of Connecticut, Barone began his career at William Raveis in 1992 as a sales associate in the company’s Stratford office. By 1993 he had earned a spot as the assistant manager of the office and in 1994 was named the sales manager. In 1999, he was asked by William Raveis to serve as the vice president of home services for the company, and by 2002 he had earned a promotion to senior vice president of business development and e-commerce. Most recently, Barone served as senior vice president of sales and business development for William Raveis Mortgage.
“Our affiliates program really offers the best of both worlds,” Barone said. “It’s a way for smaller, independent real estate organizations to gain the reach and power of a larger organization, without giving up their own identity. Since William Raveis is a family-owned company, we understand their desire to grow without compromising their values, and this is an opportunity that really is a win-win for them.”
The William Raveis Affiliate program will be launched in several markets throughout all of New England, along with select markets in New York and Florida, in early 2007. The program’s flagship office, William Raveis/Coccomo Assoc., has been a very successful William Raveis affiliate for seven years and will serve as an example of a successful affiliate for potential new offices as the program is launched.
William Raveis Real Estate & Home Services is New England’s largest privately held, family-owned real estate firm. The innovative firm, whose 2005 sales volume exceeded $5.1 billion, is nationally recognized as an industry leader and is dedicated to providing an unparalleled real estate experience to its customers.
Adelizzi Honored
Barbara Adelizzi, a professional Realtor in the Danbury office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, recently was named one of the Wall Street Journal’s Top 200 Real Estate Professionals. Adelizzi was ranked 39th in closed transactions, with a total of 192.5 closed transactions in 2005. The list, a joint effort of The Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends, appeared in last year’s Nov. 11 issue of the Journal.
The Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends joined forces in the summer of 2006 to research and publish the names and sales successes of the top 200 real estate professionals in the nation. They sent out surveys to more than 7,000 real estate firms, national networks, state and local Realtor associations, as well as training and education groups. The Top 200 winners were selected from more than 1,900 submissions.
“My strengths are in creative marketing and effective networking, two skills that have helped me to put buyers and sellers together to successfully complete transactions,” said Adelizzi. “Being named to The Wall Street Journal list truly is an honor.”
“We are extremely proud of this national acknowledgement of Barbara’s accomplishments,” said Peggy Doepper, president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Connecticut and Westchester County, N.Y. “Barbara has been a top performer and member of the President’s Elite [the top 3 percent] of Coldwell Banker agents nationwide since she joined us in 1996.”
Adelizzi has been a licensed full-time Realtor since 1987. She has received numerous awards and recognitions, including top sales associate in listings sold, total production and buyer-controlled sales; the International President’s Premier designation; and the HOBI (Connecticut Home Builders Industry) Award for Sales Agent of the Year for three consecutive years.
