Teresa Di Domenico
The Stamford-based Housing Development Fund, a nonprofit bank that provides funding for affordable housing and an array of homebuyer assistance programs, has named Teresa Di Domenico program manager at its satellite office in Danbury.
In her new position, Di Domenico will divide her time between overseeing the delivery of HDF’s homebuyer assistance services and implementing community outreach in the Greater Danbury area. The expansion of the Danbury staff is in conjunction with the overall growth of the organization and its intention to guide more households into homeownership. Of the 151 homebuyers HDF helped to purchase homes in 2006, 45 households were located in Greater Danbury.
Founded in 1989 in Stamford, HDF has expanded to serve the entire southwestern part of the state, opening its Danbury office in 2004. Its homebuyer assistance programs include the First Time Homebuyers Program; SmartMove, a low-interest, second-mortgage program; Connecticut Housing Finance Authority-approved homebuyer education classes; and the Below Market Rate Program.
Di Domenico has nine years of experience in residential lending. Prior to joining HDF, she served as credit analyst for Wachovia Mortgage in Waterbury, where her responsibilities included underwriting mortgage loan applications for single- to four-family residential properties and evaluating mortgage loan applications for sale to Fannie Mae on the secondary market. She also was a credit analyst with Peoples’ United Bank in Bridgeport.
“It’s exciting for all of us at HDF to have Teresa join our growing team,” said HDF President and Chief Executive Officer Joan Carty. “Her experience in residential lending fits well with our goal of providing the highest level of service to homebuyers. Having another staff member in the Danbury office will also allow us to assist homebuyers in that area to purchase affordable homes.”
