A rendering of the proposed wind turbine installation in Old Lyme.Clean & Green Power LLC, through its affiliate Longshore Partners LLC, has completed its assemblage of coastal property in Old Lyme, on which it plans to erect a system of wind turbines.

The wind turbine project is being developed by The Huntley Wind Cooperative. Plans call for a facility capable of generating 3 megawatts, divided evenly among two 1.5 megawatt wind turbines.

"With the Jan. 30th acquisition of the former transfer station property on Halls Road in Old Lyme from Connecticut Light & Power Co., Clean & Green Power now controls over 27 acres of land with more than 750 feet of road frontage. The unobstructed wind corridor from Long Island Sound to the salt marsh portion of the site, coupled with the elevation of the upland portion of the property, have resulted in recorded wind speeds adequate for such a project, a situation that does not exist in many areas of the state of Connecticut," the company said in a statement.
