Kenneth A. Schmidt has joined Darien-based Darien Rowayton Bank as the institution’s new senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Most recently, Schmidt was part of the management team responsible for establishing a retail bank in the U.S. for Banco do Brasil. His experience includes asset liability management, loan and securities portfolio management, liquidity and risk management, according to a statement.

"Ken is a terrific addition to our management team at Darien Rowayton Bank," said bank President Bob Kettenmann. "We are fortunate to have a seasoned professional with broad experience to lead our financial function while we continue to grow our banking presence in the community."
