Farmington Bank and Vantis Life have teamed up to become title sponsors of a 66-year-old Wethersfield youth baseball league formerly known as the Jaycee/TD-Bank Baseball League.
"We are excited to have sponsors that are community minded and in favor of providing the best possible experience for over 1,200 athletes from the central Connecticut area," said League Director Peter Kokinis. "The league continues to be one of the largest independent baseball programs in the United States."
The league will be renamed The Farmington Bank/Vantis Life Baseball League, and begins play in early June in three divisions: Prep (age 13), junior (ages 14-15) and senior (ages 16-19).
"Youth baseball in central Connecticut provides positive life lessons as well as a valuable athletic outlet for our young people," said Peter L. Tedone, president and CEO of Windsor-based Vantis Life Insurance Co. "We are very pleased to be part of this important American tradition which is based directly in our local community."
