The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation has presented its 2013 grants totaling $146,610 to 53 agencies at receptions held in both Waterbury and Danbury.
The 2013 awards represent a 4 percent increase in contributions over last year and help support health and human service, education, arts and Culture and community and economic development agencies.
A committee of Savings Bank of Danbury corporators, directors and bank officers administer the Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation.
"In 2013, we awarded more grants than any other year, surpassing a milestone of $1 million in grants since the foundation’s inception in 2004," Kathleen Romagnano, president and CEO of Savings Bank of Danbury, said in a statement. "For more than 160 years, Savings Bank of Danbury has been a community-minded bank."
