TubmanPlayscapeHartford city officials last week formally reopened the Harriet Tubman Playscape at the corner of Main Street and Harriet Tubman Court.

The city invested $49,425 to restore the playground after it was damaged in a motor vehicle crash in late 2012.

Mayor Pedro E. Segarra, acting vice chair of the Northeast Revitalization Association, Evelyn R. Richardson and city architect Tony Matta attended the event.

"Open spaces where children can play and be active are valuable to every community," Segarra said in a statement. "I’m glad the Harriet Tubman Playscape has been restored for the children in the surrounding neighborhood."
