Hartford has been named one of the healthiest housing markets among America’s biggest cities, according to a WalletHub report.

Hartford ranked at No. 5 in WalletHub’s 2015 report, "The Health of the Housing Market in 25 Big Cities." which examined the health of the real-estate markets in 25 of the largest metropolitan areas. Boston came in first, followed by Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Northern New Jersey. Las Vegas ranked dead last in the survey, which examined 10 metrics including mortgage costs and access to financing

Hartford had one of the highest down payment percentages, ranking at No. 22, according to the report, but was ranked second for having the shortest time remaining until financial freedom. Hartford had the seventh-highest equity level, at 35 percent, and was among the middle of the pack for percentage of underwater mortgages, 12.53 percent, ranking at No. 12.
