CBRE Group’s Westchester/Fairfield County office recently announced the commencement of the SoNo Place redevelopment project, which will later return to the market upon completion.

The 190,000-square-foot, 13-story mixed-use office and retail property on 50 Washington St. in Norwalk will have a range of units available, from 1,500 square feet to 26,000 square feet, with brand new high-end prebuilt units ranging from 1,500 square feet to 3,400 square feet.

The new design will include open ceilings and loft-style interiors, incorporating a modern industrial look on the exterior. The lobby will nearly double in size and contain various upgrades, along with access to the newly renovated café. Façade and landscaping improvements will also be completed.

“Attracting and retaining businesses is a key part of our development plan. Keeping the city’s stock of buildings not only up-to-date, but ahead of the curve, will help to accomplish this goal, particularly in an area like SoNo. I’m thrilled about the revitalization of SoNo Place and confident that it will continue to help draw a range of companies to SoNo and Norwalk as a whole,” Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling said in a statement.
