Gov. Dannel P. Malloy last week travelled to Washington D.C. to advocate to discuss the future of the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail line, known as the Hartford Line.
Malloy met with United States Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx and the members of Connecticut’s congressional delegation. The group released a joint statement calling the Hartford Line “a top priority” for all of them which “must get done.”
They called the meeting “both positive and productive” and said that by the end of the month, they “expect to make progress on a path acceptable to all parties that can help move this project forward.”
Funding for the Springfield Line has been rolling in since last year.
