Jewett City Bank Foundation Donates To Local Libraries

The LEGO building club at the Voluntown Public Library.

Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation has donated to four local libraries for facility and program enhancements.

A $5,000 grant will go to the Slater Library in Jewett City, made in addition to a $1,000 annual support award, helping to fund the replacement of the library’s oil tank.

A $2,500 award to Moosup’s Aldrich Free Public Library will help install a new handicapped accessible entrance ramp.

A $1,000 Foundation grant to the Sterling Public Library will go toward outreach programs for children.

Members of the Voluntown Public Library’s LEGO building club will purchase new robotic materials with a $500 foundation grant.

The foundation’s annual giving program totaled $84,850 in 2015.
