UnitedHealthcare has announced it will be the presenting sponsor for the 37th annual 2016 Connecticut Masters’ Games, the state’s largest Olympic-style competition for amateur athletes ages 50 and over.

The Connecticut Masters’ Games gives older adults the chance to compete in a variety of athletic events and activities throughout the spring and early summer.

“Staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are important factors in maintaining a high quality of life,” Dennis Hsieh, regional medical director of UnitedHealthcare, said in a statement. “The Connecticut Masters’ Games are an excellent opportunity to cheer on and recognize athletes who are great advocates of healthy aging.”

Connecticut was among the top 10 states for senior health, according to the 2015 America’s Health Rankings Senior Report. The United Health Foundation report examined senior health with the focus of encouraging action to improve it.
