The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation has announced it is accepting grant applications.

The grants are available to 501c3 organizations in Greater Danbury, Stamford and Waterbury in support of affordable housing, education, community services and economic development, health and human services and arts and culture.

Foundation grants are distributed through a committee of bank corporators, directors and officers.

“Last year, the Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation proudly awarded $162,500 to 56 nonprofit agencies in the region. Established in 2004, the foundation continues its long history of supporting organizations that are vital to the communities we serve,” Martin Morgado, president and CEO of Savings Bank of Danbury, said in a statement. “The mission of the foundation is to strengthen our communities by awarding grants to organizations vital to the well-being, growth and prosperity of the cities and towns in our region.”
