Bank of America recently named 10 Connecticut high school students to its latest slate of Student Leaders.

The bank’s Student Leaders program seeks out young people engaged in their communities for paid summer internships, as well as a Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. The aim is ultimately to connect the teens with early employment opportunities in the hope of boosting their future prospects and long-term financial success.

“Early employment opportunities help teens build the skills they need to establish a career and get on a path toward financial stability,” Kevin Cunningham, Connecticut market president, said in a statement. “Helping youth access resources and skills that prepare them for future success is an important part of our work to address the underlying issues related to economic mobility as we work to create a thriving Hartford economy.”
