The Capital Region Development Authority is seeking a consultant to help the Connecticut Convention Center stay competitive amid rising competition.
The request for proposals seeks a study of marketing opportunities for the 13-year-old venue in Hartford.
CRDA Executive Director Michael Freimuth told the Hartford Business Journal that the recent opening of the MGM Springfield casino and a new convention center at the Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville highlights the need for a new look at the 540,000-square-foot Hartford facility’s business plan.
Consultants’ responses are due Nov. 12.
