British distiller Diageo will decamp from its offices in a Norwalk office park for the World Trade Center in New York City.

The company is one of the largest alcoholic beverage companies in the world and owns brands like Johnnie Walker and Bulleit whiskies, Smirnoff Ketel One vodkas, Captain Morgan rum, Tanqueray gin and Guinness beer. Diageo established its U.S. headquarters in Norwalk 16 years ago in part thanks to state tax credits, the Hartford Courant reports. The current offices are in the city’s West Rocks neighborhood, by the Merritt Parkway.

Diageo will invest $31 million in a new, 500-person, 87,000 square foot office located at 3 World Trade Center, according to a statement from New York’s economic development agency. The project will attract 350 new jobs to New York City and retain roughly 150 existing Diageo jobs in Connecticut. Diageo North America will continue to have a presence in Fairfield County, according to the statement. The planned relocation is being supported by New York state through up to $6.6 million in performance-based Excelsior Tax Credits. The $31 million project is expected to be completed in early 2020.
