A 100-acre former corporate headquarters that’s being repositioned as a mixed-use complex with housing and event space has signed leases with two new office tenants for a total of 36,000 square feet.
Nonprofit Guideposts leased 30,000 square feet at The Summit in Danbury, while Max Q Technologies leased 6,000 square feet.
The property at 39 Old Ridgebury Road was completed in 1982 as the Union Carbide corporate headquarters. The existing 700,000-square-foot structure is being subdivided, with 400,000 square feet for apartments and 100,000 square feet reserved for conference and event space.
Amenity spaces include a cafe, fitness center and courtyards. Plans call for a sundry shop, barbershop and dry cleaners. And 25 acres of the campus have been zoned for residential development.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Adam Klimek, Kathleen Fazio, Meredith Siburn, Bill Montague and Brian Scruton represented the landlord, Summit Development. Trip Hoffman of Cushman & Wakefield represented Guideposts.
“Guideposts’ senior management was impressed by the plans presented by the new ownership at The Summit and decided to stay and renew for eight and a half years,” Trip Hoffman, senior director at Cushman & Wakefield, said in a statement. “The Guideposts signing was a tangible sign that this building was now on sound footing with a bright future.”
