Covr Financial Technologies, an insurtech firm in the life insurance space, has opened its corporate office in the iconic NassauRe “Boat Building” in downtown Hartford.
Covr focuses on delivering simplified life insurance and long-term care solutions for financial institutions, financial advisors and clients.
Covr will have approximately 15 jobs in Harford, including its executive office, marketing team, national sales team and predictive analytics/product management team.
“The thriving insurance and insurtech community in Hartford makes this the ideal place for us as we continue to grow,” Covr CEO Mike Kalen said in a statement. “We are thrilled to be here in the heart of this exciting time. The job market for talent, while competitive, is important for Covr. We are finding that there’s talent at every level in Hartford, and that’s critical for our growth and success.”
Covr Technologies was founded in Boise, Idaho and maintains a significant presence there with additional sales staff, the technology group and customer service functions.
“The two locations seem to work perfectly together to get us the talent needed to succeed,” Kalen said in a statement. “Hartford has many attractive components of a successful ecosystem, including Startupbootcamp’s Insurtech Hub, NassauRe’s new Imagine incubator, UConn’s insurtech MBA, and many other attractive pieces of the puzzle for a company like ours.”
